The ideal candidate is a military veteran, preferably with casualty or honor/color guard experience as well as proven leadership skills.  We are seeking a veteran who has a passion for serving the military community, exemplifies dignity, honor, and respect, and is willing and able to commit to a schedule that can be rigorous.

The Director of Bell Honors is “on call” for funeral missions at Fort Logan National Cemetery from 8:00 to 4:00, Monday through Friday although the typical schedule averages 25 hours per week.  There are occasional evening and weekend events.  Most of the job takes place outdoors—in all weather—and does include a considerable amount of standing.  In addition to ensuring that Bell Honors are provided, this position oversees maintenance of the Honor Bell, the vehicle, and supervises a team of veteran volunteers including some administrative tasks.  The position attends weekly staff meetings and other organizational meetings as required.

This job is ideal for someone who is retired and looking for a way to contribute to the community and find a “new way to serve” with fellow veterans.  There is a stipend and incentive structure and a uniform is provided.

The position begins June 3, 2019 with a training period before assuming all duties.  Minimum one-year commitment required.
